Michael Slaven has more than 24 years experience in insolvency. His broad experience includes appointments and management of matters in industry including retail, professional services, manufacturing, construction and hospitality. Michael has undertaken financial viability and solvency reviews, prepared fraud and internal investigation reports and assisted with shareholder, partnership and family law disputes.

Michael has also specialised in administration of bankrupt estates and regularly receives referrals from the Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia for complex bankruptcy matters. These administrations typically involve determination of property and often contain family law issues where legal proceedings are necessary.

Michael has undertaken in excess of 650 administrations including administrations under Part X of the Bankruptcy Act, traditional bankruptcy administrations, members’ voluntary liquidations, creditors’ voluntary liquidations, voluntary administrations, deed of company arrangements, receiverships and court liquidations. He has also acted as a Supreme Court appointed witness and referee in relation to litigation matters.

Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia, a Registered Company Liquidator, an Official Liquidator and a Registered Trustee in Bankruptcy. Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Canberra.
